New artist intro

Posted by AbstractOutliers - May 25th, 2024

Hello all.

Pardon my...pure ignorance on how to handle these things, I'm doing my best.

Intro, go:

Well, I've been drawing and generally making art for the past 17 years. I started compiling somewhat of a portfolio [aka my digital backup] about 8 years ago.

Expression through art is what got me through adolescence. Without support, adult issues forced a change in priorities.

Anyway, I'm starting to realize that life doesn't slow down. Yes, I have to prioritize surviving, but that doesn't mean I have to give up what I care about. There will never be a "right" time, so I figure I'll just have to jump in.

I'm an artist, I dream of being an animator one day. I like to experiment with different styles and mediums. I'm still learning, and I think that's okay too.

Thanks for listening, I tried to keep it concise. Glad to be here. iu_1210016_22274501.jpg

Yeah I also often catch myself waiting on things in hopes that the future is less busy and that I'll have more time. Very cool drawing underneath. Welcome to Newgrounds!

I'm glad to not be alone in that boat then haha
I'm happy you like the drawing, and thank you for the kind welcome too

Welcome to NG! You have wisdom beyond your years when it comes to being an artist. Yes, there is no "right time" to start...the only real time to start is now. Most people don't have enough control over their own lives to make things slow down. That _could_ be an option for you later on, depending on what you do for a living & other decisions, but you shouldn't count on it occurring at some point in your future. As much as you can, though, organize your daily life so you always have some time to create.

Also, thanks for the follow. I appreciate it.
